Discovering a gap and filling a need – Neurodiversity Guide for Leaders
with Lourdes Negron-McDaniel - NCH Director of Inclusion and Culture
Join this Nationwide Children’s Hospital team as they share their approach to supporting neurodivergent employees and leaders. In this session, you’ll explore insights and strategies gathered across Human Resources, the NCH CapABLE Employee Resource Group, and a Instructional Designer.
Together, these partners identified key needs, designed effective solutions, and developed meaningful, actionable content. Discover how this collaborative effort led to inclusive strategies that empower both leaders and employees, fostering a more supportive and accessible workplace culture.
ABOUT THE PRESENTER
LOURDES NEGRON-MCDANIEL
Lourdes Negrón-McDaniel is the Assistant Chief, Workplace Culture and Director of Inclusion and Culture at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, where she helps to lead the organization’s inclusion, equity, and culture strategy and people initiatives and programs. Lourdes serves on the leadership team for the health system’s Stand for Health Equity framework, also known as STAND.
Within this enterprise-wide framework, Lourdes co-chairs the education and development efforts for the organization on inclusion, equity, and culture and serves on a variety of committees representing the overall strategic framework.

We provide a forum for COATD members to gain knowledge,
learn about best practices, and share resources with one another.
In addition, this forum will champion the efforts around diversity, equity,
and inclusion for talent development professionals to embrace
our multicultural workforce.
MEET YOUR DIVERSITY, EQUITY, & INCLUSION SIG LEADERS
MAT STUCKEY
Mathew has over 10 years of learning and development experience, most recently as a Senior Talent Development Trainer for Columbus State Community College (CSCC).
In addition, he has been an advocate
for LGBTQIA+ issues.
While at NiSource, Mathew was a founder and
President of the LGBTQIA+ ERG, NiPRIDE, implementing a variety of companywide initiatives.
Currently, Mathew is the co-lead for PRISM, the CSCC LGBTQIA+ ERG
and is a graduate of United Way’s Project Diversity/Pride Leadership program.

TORI SMART
Tori Smart is currently living in Ohio, but has also lived
in several states across the country giving her exposure
to character building experiences.
As an Instructional Designer she is dedicated
to elevating talent through providing learners
with meaningful educational opportunities.
During her career as a leader and patient family advocate,
Tori has worked with diverse populations coaching them
towards their best outcomes, and enhancing their wellbeing.
