Coming Out and The Transgender Experience
The state of the world can be overwhelming for transgender folks. We’ll cover the current reality and some statistics about the lives of transgender folks and what affirming health advocacy looks like. We’ll also do a deep dive into what coming out at an inclusive employer is like from the employee perspective, and what can be done to help this process go smoothly from multiple perspectives. Join Victoria Yanovich as she personally covers this sometimes less talked about topic. Come prepared with questions and/or share what you know!
About our presenter:
Victoria Yanovich (she/her) is a systems engineer who has been involved in various careers ranging from software programming, to managing systems, to nearly everything in between. Victoria is a previous co-chair of the LGBTQ+ Employee Resource Group at her employer. She is a computer enthusiast with a passion for inclusivity and equality, and that is demonstrated through her current and past volunteer efforts.
About the Diversity and Inclusion SIG:
We provide a forum for COATD members to gain knowledge, learn about best practices, and share resources with one another. In addition, this forum will champion the efforts around diversity, equity, and inclusion for talent development professionals to embrace our multicultural workforce.
