Critical conversations. Difficult clients. Confrontational managers and colleagues. Conflict is uncomfortable, and puts you in a no-win position because how you handle it often makes or breaks your career. How do you separate the problem from the person and focus on resolutions instead of responding viscerally to a perceived attack?
You want to be in a win-win position, and having conflict resolution skills can get you there!
Central Ohio ASTD is excited to offer the We Win When! (Confronting Effectively: Controlling the Escalation of Conflict) workshop to help you learn effective methods for handling conflict. Presented by Janna Yeshanova-Stephens, M.A., M.Ed., founder and principal of Life-Spark, LLC, this dynamic and powerful workshop will help you gain awareness and understanding of:
- How conversations can escalate into confrontations
- How to confront while minimizing escalation
- How to de-escalate conflict before you lose control
- How to handle difficult people and crisis situations
Janna uses training techniques that incorporate a variety of methods to accommodate different learning styles. Case studies, along with role-playing opportunities will help you understand cycles of conflict, appreciate the importance of active listening, gain self-awareness, and learn appropriate responses. You will explore your personal conflict style, and leave the workshop with a Personal Action Plan to help you effectively address conflicts in your work environment. All activities are presented in a possibility-oriented, interactive, and authentic environment.
Janna will be providing her book "Love Is Never Past Tense" as the door prize.
